Step by step

    Find the Suburban Railway

    Follow signs for "Suburban Railway" or "Προαστιακός" from the airport arrivals area — separate platform from the Metro.

    Buy a ticket

    Get a €10 ticket from the machines or ticket office — valid for both Suburban Railway and Metro for 90 minutes with transfers.

  3. 3
    Board the train

    Take the Suburban Railway towards Athens / Piraeus. Direct connection — you do NOT need to change trains.

    Get off at Larissa Station

    The journey takes about 25 minutes. Larissa Station (Σταθμός Λαρίσης) is the main railway station of Athens.

    Walk ~7 minutes to Ioulianou 50

    Exit the station and head east along Filadelfeias Street. Continue straight to Ioulianou and number 50 is on your left. (Note: Google Maps' automatic route makes unnecessary detours — the straight path via Filadelfeias is faster.)

    From the airport arrivals area, follow "Metro" signs to the platform.

    Take Line 3 (blue) towards "Agia Marina"

    Board the Blue Line. The airport is the eastern terminus — every train going west works.

    Get off at Monastiraki and switch to Line 1

    After ~33 minutes, transfer at Monastiraki to the Green Line (Line 1) towards Kifisia. Victoria is 3 stops further.

    Walk ~3 minutes to Ioulianou 50

    Exit Victoria station, head northwest on Patision (28is Oktovriou), then turn right onto Ioulianou. Your destination is on the left, at number 50.

Victoria Metro Station

Σταθμός Μετρό Βικτώρια

The closest Metro station to Ioulianou 50. Line 1 (Green) connects it to Omonia, Monastiraki, Plaka, the Acropolis and Piraeus. At Monastiraki you change to Line 3 for the airport.

Athens' central railway station — served by four Suburban Railway lines (including the direct airport link), Metro Line 2, and the long-distance intercity trains.

Arriving by intercity train?

If you are coming from Thessaloniki, Patras or another Greek city by regular train, you will arrive at Larissa Station — the same spot as the Suburban Railway. Follow the same 16-18 minute walk via Filadelfeias to Ioulianou 50, or take Metro Line 2 (red) two stops to Omonia and walk 10 minutes.

Important tips

The Suburban Railway is the fastest option, with the most luggage space and the shortest final walk.
All Metro and Suburban tickets must be validated before boarding.
Keep your ticket until the end of the journey — controls are random.
The €10 airport ticket is valid for 90 minutes with free transfers between Metro and Suburban.
The Suburban platform is separate from the Metro — look for the Προαστιακός signs.
Metro trains have dedicated luggage areas — usually at the ends of the carriages.
Free Wi-Fi is available at every Metro and Suburban station.
During rush hour (07:00–09:00, 17:00–20:00) expect crowded Metro carriages.
