Five days of art at Onassis Ready, in Agios Ioannis Rentis.
Art Athina is Greece's oldest contemporary art fair and one of the oldest in Europe: it has run since 1993. Greek and international galleries set up their booths side by side, with painting, sculpture, photography and installations, and around them runs a programme of talks and parallel exhibitions. In 2026 it takes place for the 33rd time, from Thursday 12 November to Monday 16 November, in a new venue: Onassis Ready, a former factory in Agios Ioannis Rentis. From Ioulianou 50 it's about 15–20 minutes by taxi.

What Art Athina is

Art Athina is organised by the Hellenic Art Galleries Association. It's a selling fair: galleries bring works by their artists and the works are for sale. You don't need to buy anything to go, though. Most visitors come to see, in one afternoon, what the Greek and international art scene is doing today, something that would otherwise take dozens of gallery visits all over the city.

In recent years the fair was held at the Zappeion. In 2026 it moves to Onassis Ready, the Onassis Foundation's venue in a former plastics factory, because the Zappeion is closing for renovation.

Hours and tickets

The 2026 opening hours and prices are announced on the fair's website, art-athina.gr. To give you an idea: in 2025 Art Athina was open daily 12:00–21:00, with a €10 ticket and €8 reduced for students, the unemployed and over-65s. Allow two to three hours to see it at your own pace.

How to get to Onassis Ready

  1. Taxi from Ioulianou 50: the simplest way. The route is about 6 kilometres, via Konstantinoupoleos and Petrou Ralli.
  2. Petrou Ralli → Agios Ioannis Rentis: the taxi turns off Petrou Ralli into the Rentis industrial zone.
  3. Strati Tsirka 2: the entrance of Onassis Ready.

Without traffic the drive takes around 10 minutes; in the afternoon allow 15–20. Rentis is an industrial area with no metro station nearby, so we suggest a taxi for the way back too.

Kathy's tip: go on a weekday, Thursday or Friday, when it's less crowded than at the weekend. Ask the driver for «Onassis Ready, Strati Tsirka 2» and keep a taxi number for the way back, as not many pass through the industrial zone.
