Three days at the Tae Kwon Do arena in Faliro, mid-May.
The Athens International Tattoo Convention is Athens’ big tattoo show. For three days more than 450 tattoo artists from all over the world set up their stands in the Tae Kwon Do indoor arena in Faliro and work in front of the public. It takes place every May: 2022 was the 14th edition, 2026 the 18th, on 15–17 May. In 2027 we expect it roughly from Friday 14 May to Sunday 16 May (estimate; the dates have not been announced). You don’t need to get a tattoo to go; many people come just to look.

What you’ll see

The hall fills with stands, and at most of them someone is getting tattooed right then. You can get one too, if you book with the artist in advance or find a free slot on the day. Every day there’s a «Best of Day» contest for the day’s best tattoos. In 2026 there were also DJs, graffiti, bike and skate shows, a fire show, pole dance, body painting and a games room. At the «Star Your Body» stand all proceeds go to Make-A-Wish Greece.

Kathy’s tip: if you want a tattoo from a particular artist, message them weeks ahead, because appointments fill up fast. If you just want to look, Friday afternoon is probably less crowded than Saturday. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center is next door, for a walk afterwards.
