Why it's worth knowing about
It is one of the very few central Athens 5-star hotels with a rooftop pool, and almost certainly the closest one to you. Instead of a taxi to Kolonaki or Plaka for a sunset drink with a view, you walk 7 minutes and you are in a luxury setting — with or without a room booking.
The rooftop pool
The Rooftop Panoramic Pool sits on the top floor of the hotel with a 360° view over Athens — Lycabettus Hill, the Acropolis in the distance, Strefi Hill, Tourkovounia. There are loungers, parasols, a pool bar serving drinks, light food and cocktails, and at night it turns into a dining venue with a view.
Open to outside visitors — but call ahead
The pool does admit non-residents as day visitors, however the hotel does not publish a fixed day-pass price on its website — availability and pricing are arranged on a case-by-case basis depending on the season, occupancy, and whether the package includes food or drinks. At comparable Athens 5-star hotels the typical range is €40–80 per person for a full day, often including a credit for the pool bar. The practical advice: phone first at +30 210 889 4500 or email through their contact page and ask about availability, price and pool hours. Don't just turn up unannounced.
The easier option for those who want to get up there without uncertainty: make a reservation for food or cocktails at the rooftop restaurant/bar (ST'ASTRA) — the view is identical, the entry is straightforward, and the experience is almost as impressive.
The restaurants and bars
🌃 ST'ASTRA Roof Top Restaurant & Bar
On the top floor. Mediterranean cuisine plus sushi options with panoramic Athens views. Ideal for sunset cocktails or dinner with a view. Tip: book 1–2 days ahead, especially at weekends.
🍝 Gallo Nero
The hotel's Italian restaurant at lobby level. Traditional Italian cooking — pasta, risotto, grilled meats — with Italian wines. A more discreet setting, good for a couple's dinner or a business lunch.
☕ Lobby Cafe Bar
On the ground floor, open from early morning. Specialty coffee, drinks, small pastries and snacks, light all-day dishes. No reservation needed — walk in and sit down. A good quiet option with Wi-Fi if you need to work.
There is also 10 URBAN ROOF, an events and receptions venue on the rooftop, plus a pool bar next to the pool that serves only pool users.
