What it actually is
It is a classic Athenian souvlaki place: a small charcoal grill, a counter, a few stools inside and a couple of tables outside when the weather allows. It mostly works for takeaway and delivery, but you can easily sit down as well. You can usually smell the charcoal from outside, which already tells you a lot about the place.
What the menu offers
It does two things well: chicken kalamaki and pork kalamaki. You can have them as a skewer with bread or pita on the side, as a pita wrap with tzatziki, tomato, onion and fries, or as a platter with 2 skewers, pita, fries and lemon, like the photo above. There is also a chicken-bites wrap, but most people come for the classic souvlaki. Prices are usually €2.20-€2.50 for kalamaki, €3.80-€4.20 for a wrap and €9-€11 for a platter.
How to get there from Angel Athens (Ioulianou 50)
The walk is short and simple: head east toward Victoria Square, cross the square and continue a few metres down Cheyden Street. It is roughly 400 metres, about 5 minutes on foot. The whole route is on pavement and is usually lit in the evening, so it is convenient if you want a quick souvlaki before going back to the apartment.
